Learn the basics of ashtanga, with one of our 2 week/6 class beginners courses. These courses are aimed at students with little or no experience of yoga (or ashtanga yoga).

Yin yoga: Deep stretching and relaxation

Yin is the perfect partner to ashtanga -– gently opening your body to improve your flexibility. The practice encourages you to let go of any goals and ambition and just ‘be’ in the pose, finding stillness and deep relaxation.

It’s a form of yoga that works on stretching the body’s connective tissue in the pelvis, hips and spine. Instead of getting ourselves into the most pretzel-like yoga postures, the yin challenge is the duration over which the poses are held – for around five minutes.

Clare teaches yin yoga in London and Hertfordshire. She aims to make yoga fun and accessible for everyone – no matter what their age or ability. Visit shantayoga.co.uk to find out more about Clare.

iRest yoga nidra is a deeply relaxing meditative practice. It can help to heal unresolved issues and trauma and provide you with the tools to find peace of mind amidst the challenges and changing circumstances of life.

A profoundly simple practice for:
Releasing stress and anxiety
Experiencing deep relaxation
Improving relationships
Self-acceptance
Emotional wellbeing


Each session will focus on a different stage of iRest with an introduction followed by a practice. A CD with two iRest practices is included and is a great way to start building your own home practice under the guidance of a teacher.

Restorative yoga - Allow yourself the important task of relaxing - Rachel will guide you through restorative poses enabling you to de-stress and recharge slowly, ready for the week ahead.

Your parasympathetic nervous system will be given the chance to engage, allowing the inner systems of the body to reboot and renew.

A nurturing practice where your body will be completely supported by props to leave you feeling centred, present and relaxed, the perfect way to start your week.
